This collection of field recordings of Alan Lomax could well be an illustration of the audio book by Valery Pisigina “Coming blues” . About Alan Lomax I first learned to rutracker.org. That’s out of the stylistic diversity and were born that we so appreciate and love – the great blues music, and with just such records and history began promoting it … I understand from ollmyuzik in 1959, 60 years Lomax collected in the south of the U.S. 80! Hours of field recordings, these recordings were issued on 19 plates, seven of them formed the basis of this collection – Sounds of the South (4CD Box Set), other 12, known as the “Prestige series entitled Southern Journey”. Rounder Records added previously unreleased and released it on CD 13-volume set
I also ask you to pay attention to a large number of Christian themes in these songs, indicating that the Christian roots of the blues. This is, unfortunately, only then … This is my first release in lossless, I want to dedicate it to zhconst – a great man in the Roots and blues . Though confident that this rip (no cue-file) has already experienced all the fans Roots so the spread is more for the inexperienced. (The tracker has been laid out in the mp3 ). Scans put in a folder found on the Internet front and inside boxing and taken on Amazon edges of each disc, but pointed out that the scan is not as it does not scans. Chessgovorya PS, for me is a mystery – why has no one bothered to make and lay-Fi quality rip of this great publishing a collection of folk music of the American South, of which roughly went all modern pop and rock music? Only on the use of material from this box set like a club DJ Moby has become a mega-pop star worldwide, and for him and other pop stars were tightened, “inspired by” the people … Previous rip I found on the “broken” bay but also on the Wat was just the same – no cue-file, and in the logs: “Defeat audio cache: No”, “Null samples used in CRC calculations: No”, Gaps not detected / appended to previous track … And Finally, at my request, my distant friend with Vata (which I promised not to mention his nickname), sought to have the original box set this edition and made with him a quality rip. Believe me it is worth a lot of sweat, so let me give him a huge thank you and a bow for this masterpiece! Enjoy all the listening!

VA – American Folk Blues Festival: 1962-1965 (5CD Box Set) (1995) [FLAC]

The celebrated performers featured on this five-disc box–John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thornton, Howlin’ Wolf, and Sonny Boy (Rice Miller) Williamson among them–were seasoned veterans when these recordings were made between 1962 and 1965. They were, however, far from over the hill. Brought to Europe as part of an annual barnstorming tour designed to introduce the blues to the old country, the forefathers (and a few mothers) of various strains of the genre basked in their chance to show their skills to appreciative foreign audiences. They also clearly enjoyed each other’s company. The nature of the American Folk Blues road shows made for some fascination collaborations: The 1962 set, for example, finds Hooker, then in his brooding prime, backed by guitar legend T-Bone Walker–on piano! Willie Dixon (the MVP here), Otis Spann, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and Mississippi Fred McDowell are just a few of the other legends who turn up in this expansive document of the blues revival that topped all blues revivals. –Steven Stolder

VA – The Heavy Metal Box (2007) (4CD Box Set) [FLAC]

According to Billboard.com, the label Rhino Records has appointed 2 October release date for the collection of “Heavy Metal Box”. It will consist of four disks, which will present 70 songs bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, MOTORHEAD, SLAYER and many, many others.
material on the disk will be located chronologically, starting from 1968 and ending with the year 1991, and will boast track stars such as DEEP PURPLE, METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, IRON BUTTERFLY, PANTERA, ALICE COOPER, VENOM, TESTAMENT, RUSH and MEGADETH. To match the content of the name, they decided to release a collection in a metal box.
Collection will also include numerous photos, comments to songs, interviews with James’om Ronnie Dio and Lita Ford, as well as Article Lars Ulrich’a of METALLICA on a new wave British Heavy Metal (New Wave of Brish Heavy Metal (NWOBHM)).

While Barton Hall is well known, the astounding tour that surrounded it has occasionally flown under the radar due to the uneven quality of tapes in circulation. May 1977 is set to change all of that with a boxed set that zeroes in on this high-water mark in the Grateful Dead’s long strange trip.

For a band resurrecting itself after a 20-month hiatus, there was a great frenzy of expectancy that surrounded the Spring of 1977. We anticipate a grand reoccurrence of this fervor with the release of May 1977, a 14-disc boxed set featuring five complete shows from consecutive stops on that magical tour. Mastered in HDCD by Jeffrey Norman at Mockingbird Mastering, the “psychoacoustic phenomena” as Jerry once put it, of St. Paul Civic Center Arena, St. Paul, MN (5/11) Auditorium Theatre, Chicago, IL (5/12, 5/13), St. Louis Arena, St. Louis MO (5/15) and Coliseum at the University Of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL (5/17) can now finally be appreciated. Each of these shows finds the Dead delivering punchier, more focused sets, tightening up the framework; each night turning out first-ever renditions (“Passenger,” “Iko Iko,” “Jack-A-Roe”), unloading potent new pairings (“Scarlet Begonias”>”Fire On The Mountain”, “Estimated Prophet”>”Eyes Of The World”), classic covers (“Dancing In The Street”) and soon-to-be staples (“Estimated Prophet,” “Samson and Delilah”), and ultimately rising up to paradise.

May 1977 is limited to 15,000 individually numbered copies. Presented in a psychedelic box that boasts an intricate die-cut design created by Grammy®-winning graphic artist Masaki Koike, the set also includes a book filled with stories about each show, as well as an in-depth essay by Dead historian Steve Silberman, who delves deep into the history behind the tour and the band’s return from its extended hiatus.

Here, Apple’s exhaustive 2010 reissue campaign is condensed into a single, limited box set containing all of the individualalbums from the series — Badfinger’s Magic Christian Music, No Dice, Straight Up, and Ass; Mary Hopkin’s Postcard and Earth Song, Ocean Song; James Taylor’ eponymous debut; Jackie Lomax’ Is This What You Want?; Billy Preston’s Encouraging Words and That’s the Way God Planned It; Doris Troy’s self-titled album; the Modern Jazz Quartet two-fer of Under the Jasmine Tree and Space; the Radha Krishna Temple’s LP; John Tavener’s The Whale/Celtic Requiem — the accompanying single-disc compilation Come and Get It, and a two-disc set of 37 Apple rarities that round up tracks available elsewhere as digital downloads (none of these are better than the bonus tracks added to respective reissues; they’re generally good but not noteworthy). Housed in a crate replicating an original Apple promo item, this handsome set may be expensive, but it’s cheaper than buying these discs individually, so any collector in for the whole shebang should give this box serious consideration.
